Wire-to-board connectors have different types of connections between circuit boards, and each type has its own characteristics. Here is a brief introduction to this:
1. Pin header/pin header. Female headers and pin headers are relatively cheap and commonly used connection methods.
Application scenarios: low-end, large-size smart devices, development boards, debugging boards, etc.;
Advantages: cheap, convenient, firm hard connection, strong overcurrent capability, easy to wire bond and test;
Disadvantages: bulky, not easy to bend, large spacing, hundreds of pins are difficult to connect (too large).
2.some wire-to-board connectors are used for compact products, which are denser than pin headers.
Application scenario: It is widely used, and conventional intelligent hardware products are basically in use.
Advantages: Small size, large number of needles, 40 needles can be made in 1 cm length.
Disadvantages: The structural design needs to be fixed and the price is expensive and cannot be plugged and unplugged frequently.
3. The thickened wire-to-board connector can be combined, disassembled and inserted on the pin header.
Application scenario: test boards, development boards, large fixed equipment (such as computer chassis wiring).
Advantages: Cheap and common to use with pins, very easy to connect and measure.
Disadvantages: difficult to repair, bulky, not suitable for mass production scenarios.
4. FPC connector plug / ZIF connector. Many smart hardware devices need to pull out the signal from the motherboard, and FPC is a good choice because of its small size, flexibility and changeable shape.
Application scenario: circuit bending, connection between main board and peripheral devices, connection between auxiliary board and main board, compact product space.
Advantages: Small and cheap.
